Second Opinions & Revisions
Whether you are considering lower extremity surgery, wonder why a particular surgery is not being offered to you, or have questions about your recovery after a surgical procedure that has already been completed, Dr. K can help you find answers and make decisions about future care.
Dr. Krynetskiy has full privileges at both Physicians Regional and NCH systems, but does not work for either one. He is able to provide you with an unbiased opinion.
Another perspective is always helpful.
Together, we will compare your treatment history to accepted gold standard of care and discuss advanced surgical and nonsurgical solutions for the future. At other times, overly complicated treatment may not be the right answer – together we will avoid triumph of technology with reason.
Second Opinion FAQs
Q: Does Medicare pay for a second opinion?
A: Yes, if the prior physician is recommending surgery or a major/invasive test (it even pays for a third opinion if the two surgeons disagree!).
Q: Won’t my doctor be upset/irritated/still treat me if I obtain a second opinion?
A: My colleagues and I regard the patient who seeks a second opinion before a surgery as someone who is active in their own care. There may be several reasonable ways to treat a certain condition and a second opinion may provide an alternative or reassure that the course taken is most beneficial.
Q: What is the right surgery for me?
A: No two patients are the same. As a medical doctor, Dr. K has a firm grasp of anatomy and function of the entire musculoskeletal system, not just your foot. He is able to evaluate your foot or ankle problem in the context of the entire body.
